EFCC: Arrested Thirty Four Suspected Internet Fraudster In Ogun State

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan Office has arrested thirty-four suspected internet fraudsters at 21, Sawmill Road Awa-Ijebu, Ogun state

The suspected cyber criminals who are between 19 and 37 years of age include: twenty-three students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, out of which nine were ladies who allegedly claimed to be girlfriends and or neighbours of some of the suspects; one from the National Open University of Nigeria and twelve others are non-students.

The Commission got wind of their activities through series of intelligence alleging that the suspected fraudsters engaged in fraudulent activities of obtaining money by false pretences through sending emails to unsuspecting victims mostly in the United States of America while others were engaged in romance scam on several dating sites.

At the point of arrest, EFCC operatives recovered over three hundred SIM cards from them. Other items recovered from the suspects include: different models and brands of exotic cars, 18 laptops (nine being of Apple brand), 50 telephones (21 iphones) and two bags of fetish objects (juju) from them. Several documents containing false pretences were also recovered from the suspects.

Suspects would be charged to court accordingly as soon as investigation is concluded.

N59.7m Fraud: Prophet in prison custody for defrauding FIDELITY BANK STAFF.... Court remands him
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Monday, November 5, 2018, arraigned one Prophet Cletus Ilongwo, Founder, Power of The Holy Spirit Evangelical Ministry, Lagos before Justice S.O. Solebo of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State on an 11-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N59, 760, 000 (Fifty-Nine Million, Seven Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira) only.

The complainant, Obinna Ezenwaka, a former employee of Fidelity Bank Plc, alleged that he was introduced to the defendant's church in 2015 in his efforts to find a solution to what he described as a "spiritual problem

Illongwo, upon knowing the status of the complainant, was said to have mentioned a business, which he claimed would benefit both of them as well as the church.
He was also said to have lured Ezenwaka to buy a property located at Diamond Estate, Festac Town, Lagos State worth N59, 760,000, with the assurance that they would resell it to a Chinese company at the cost of N150million.
However, Illongwo allegedly reneged on his promise after receiving the money, which Ezenwaka claimed was generated from accounts of various customers of the bank.
Ezenwaka, who also alleged that Illongwo diverted the money to his personal use, claimed that he was dismissed from the bank over the issue.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
In view of his plea, the prosecution counsel, A. Yerima, asked for a trial date and prayed the court to remand the defendant in prison custody.
The defence counsel sought bail on behalf of his client.
However, the Judge refused to hear the bail application at today's proceedings.
After listening to both counsels, Justice Solebo remanded the defendant in prison custody and adjourned to November 14, 2018 for hearing of the bail application and November 19, 2018 for commencement of trial.

NAFDAC: Warns Consumers On PUFFER FISH

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), on Tuesday cautioned the general public against consumption of Puffer Fish.

The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Moji Adeyeye, gave the warning in a statement in Abuja.

Adeyeye explained that the fish might contain the potent and deadly toxins tetrodotoxin and saxitoxin, which could cause severe illness and death.

She said that some organs of the fish, such as liver and gonads (ovaries and testes), the skin and intestines typically contained the toxin. According to her, cooking or freezing cannot destroy the toxin

She added that freezing and thawing of the product prior to removal of the toxic organs might result in the migration of toxin into the flesh of the fish.

“Restaurants and fish sellers are warned not to serve or sell this fish also known as puffer, swellfish, fugu, globefish or sea squad among other names, as this will severely endanger public health.

Due to the potential health hazard associated with the fish, NAFDAC does not allow importation or sale of puffer fish. And we hereby alert the general public on dangers of consuming PUFFER FISH

The name of President Muhammadu Buhari is not on the list of candidates that sat for the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (UCLES) exams for 1961 and 1962 according to WAEC office.

As at 1962,the Northern Nigeria did not Join the WAEC exams and therefore WAEC Nigeria did not conduct any examination for Muhammadu Buhari and have no result details that will warrant them issuing any paper to Buhari.

This affidavit issued to President Buhari is Fake and he will be prosecuted for tendering fake documents if he dare tender it to INEC.

Buhari dropped out of secondary to join the military and there is no record of his going back to school to sit for this examination
